Śrī Lakṣmī Mātā Āratī

oṁ jaya lakṣmī mātā, maiyā jaya lakṣmī mātā

tumako niśa dina sevata (2)

hara viṣṇu vidhātā

oṁ jaya lakṣmī mātā

Glory to You, Oh Mother, glory to You, Mother Lakshmi. Shiva, Vishnu and Brahmā meditate on You every day and night.

umā ramā brahmāṇi, tuma hī jaga-mātā

maiyā tuma hī jaga-mātā

sūrya chandra-mā dhyāvata (2)

nārada ṛṣī gātā

oṁ jaya lakṣmī mātā

You are Yourself the consort of Brahmā, Rudra and Vishnu and the Mother of the world. The sage Narada sings Your praises and the sun and the moon meditate on You.

durgā rūpa nirañjanī, sukha sampati dātā

maiya sukha sampati dātā

jo koī tuma ko dhyāvatā (2)

ṛddhi siddhi dhana pātā

oṁ jaya lakṣmī mātā

As Durga, You grant both happiness and prosperity; and he who centres his attention on You becomes a recipient of all riddhis and siddhis, prosperity and accomplishment.

tuma pātāla nivāsinī, tuma hī śubha-dātā

maiya tuma hī śubha-dātā

karma-prabhāva-prakāśinī (2)

bhava-nidhi kī trātā

oṁ jaya lakṣmī mātā

None but You dwell in the nether regions of the earth and You alone ensure good luck, bring to light the effect of karma (action) and protect all worldly treasures.

jisa ghara meṁ tuma rahatīṁ

saba sadguṇa ātā

maiya saba sadguṇa ātā

saba sambhava ho jātā (2)

mana nahiṁ ghabarātā

oṁ jaya lakṣmī mātā

All the virtues collect themselves where You dwell. With Your Grace and favour even the impossible becomes possible without causing agitation.

tuma bina yajña na hote, vastra na koī pātā

maiyā vastra na koī pātā

khana-pānakā vaibhava (2)

saba tumase ātā

oṁ jaya lakṣmī mātā

No sacrifice can be performed without You (Your Grace), no one can obtain any garment (to cover his body); it is from You that one obtains one’s sustenance (food and drink).

śubha guṇa mandira sundara

kṣīro dadhi jātā

maiya kṣiro dadhi jātā

ratna caturdaśa tuma bina (2)

koī nahiṁ pātā

oṁ jaya lakṣmī mātā

Oh daughter of the ocean of milk and the beauteous temple of all propitious virtues, You are a living mass of all the fourteen gems with which no-one else is endowed.

mahālakṣmī-jī kī āratī, jo koī jana gātā

maiyā jo koī jana gātā

ura ānanda samātā (2)

pāpa utara jātā

oṁ jaya lakṣmī mātā

Whosoever sings this prayer to Lakshmi is purged of his sins and experiences the ecstasy of joy.
