oṁ mahāvatārāya vidmahe

jagadguru-devāya dhīmahi

tanno bābāji pracodayāt

We meditate on the highest Incarnation, we fix our minds on the Jagadguru. May Bābājī inspire us.

oṁ rāmānujāya vidmahe

tat-vārthadāya dhīmahi

tanno lakṣmaṇa-muniḥ pracodayāt

We meditate on Ramanuja, we fix our minds on He who expounded to us the real meaning of the 'tatvams'. May Ramanuja inspire us.

oṁ saccitānanda vidmahe

ṣirḍi vāsaya dhīmahi

tanno sāī pracodayāt

We meditate on the Eternal Consciousness and Bliss, we fix our minds on Sirdi. May Sirdi Sai Baba inspire us.

oṁ mahā lakṣmyai ca vidmahe

viṣṇu patnyai ca dhīmahi

tanno lakṣmī pracodayāt

We meditate on Mahalakshmi, we fix our minds on the wife of Vishnu. May Lakshmi inspire us.

oṁ nārāyaṇāya vidmahe

vāsudevāya dhīmahi

tanno viṣṇuḥ pracodayāt

We meditate on Narayana, we fix our minds on Vasudeva. May Vishnu inspire us.

oṁ pṛthvīdevyai ca vidmahe

sahasramūrtyai ca dhīmahi

tanno mahī pracodayāt

We meditate on the Goddess of earth, we fix our minds on the One with a thousand forms. May the Earth inspire us.

oṁ vajranakhāya vidmahe

tīkṣṇa-daṁṣṭrāya dhīmahi

tanno nṛsiṁhaḥ pracodayāt

We meditate on the One with hard claws, we fix our minds on the One with sharp teeth. May Narasimha inspire us.

oṁ añjanījāya vidmahe

vāyuputrāya dhīmahi

tanno hanumat pracodayāt

We meditate on the son of Anjani, we fix our minds on the son of Vayu. May Hanuman inspire us.

oṁ tat puruṣāya vidmahe

suvarṇa-parnāya dhīmahi

tanno garudaḥ pracodayāt

We meditate on the Atma, we fix our minds on the Bird with golden wings. May Garuḍa inspire us.

oṁ ugram vīram mahā-viṣṇuṁ

jvalantam sarvato mukhaṁ

nṛsiṁhaṁ bhīśanaṁ bhadraṁ

mṛtyur mṛtyum namāmyaham

My obeisances unto the ferocious and powerful, the great Vishnu, the fiery one whose faces are on all sides, the fearful one, Nrsimha, who causes the death of even death personified, or who can overcome even death.

oṁ sudarśanāya vidmahe

mahājvālāya dhīmahi

tanno cakraḥ pracodayāt

We meditate on Sudarshana, we fix our minds on the One who blazes like a hundred suns. May the Divine Cakra inspire us.

oṁ dāśarathāya vidmahe

sītā-vallabhāya dhīmahi

tanno rāmaḥ pracodayāt

We meditate on the descendent of Dasharatha, we fix our minds on the husband of Sita. May Rama inspire us.

oṁ vṛṣabhjānujāye vidmahe

kṛṣṇa priyāyai dhīmahi

tanno radhe pracodayāt

We meditate on the daughter of Vṛṣabhjanu, we fix our minds on the beloved of Krishna. May Radha inspire us.

oṁ devakī-naṇḍanāya vidmahe

vāsudevāya dhīmahi

tanno kriṣnaḥ pracodayāt

We meditate on the son of Devaki, we fix our minds on Vasudeva. May Krishna inspire us.

oṁ tulasī devyai ca vidmahe

viṣṇu priyāyai ca dhimahi

tanno tulasī pracodayāt

We meditate on the Goddess whose Divinity is incomparable, we fix our minds on who is dear to Vishnu. May Tulasi inspire us.

oṁ kātyāyanyai ca vidmahe

kanyākumāryai dhīmahi

tanno durgā pracodayāt

We meditate on the descendent of Kati, we fix our minds on Kanyakumare. May Durga inspire us.

oṁ mahādevāya vidmahe

rudramūrtaye dhīmahi

tanno śivaḥ pracodayāt

We meditate on the Supreme Being, we fix our minds on Mahadeva. May Rudra inspire us.

vakratuṇḍāya dhīmahi

tanno dantī pracodayāt

We meditate on the one-toothed, we fix our minds on the one with the curved trunk. May the tusked one inspire us.

oṁ vāgdevyai ca vidmahe

viriñci patnyai ca dhīmahi

tanno vaṇī pracodayāt

We meditate on the goddess of speech, we fix our minds on the wife of Lord Brahmā. May Goddess Vani inspire us.
